Medical Laboratory and Clinical Scientists Council of Zimbabwe

The Medical Laboratory & Clinical Scientists Council of Zimbabwe was established as a regulatory authority in accordance with the Health Professions Act of 2000, Chapter 27:19 part IX. Some of the functions of the Council as defined in the act are:

  • To establish and maintain one or more registers in terms of Part XV for the registration of persons in the Professions and callings specified in Part VI of the First Schedule, and
  • To issue practicing certificates to registered persons and to cancel or suspend such certificates in terms of the ACT and,
  • To define and enforce ethical practice and discipline among registered persons
